Product Description

The AVM ISDN-Controller B1 PCI v4.0 for the ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) supports the CAPI Manager interface by Novell. Thus all applications based on Novell's CAPI interface can now be used directly. These applications include Novell IntranetWare, Novell BorderManager, MultiProtocol Router for ISDN 3.1, NetWare Connect for ISDN 2.0, etc. The AVM B1 PCI v4.0 is therefore the ideal platform for LAN-to-LAN connectivity, fax servers and remote networking over ISDN. The AVM B1 active ISDN controller family (PCI, ISA/EISA, PCMCIA) supports all of the features provided by ISDN BRI. Equipped with a multitasking RISC CPU "StrongT" and 1 MB of RAM, the B1 substantially reduces the processing burden on the host CPU. Up to four ISDN-Controllers can be installed in one computer system. The B1 ISDN-Controllers are internationally approved and support various D channel protocols such as DSS1 [EURO-ISDN], NI-1, 5ESS, and 1TR6

Configuration Note(s)

NetWare 6 requires additional WAN support from NIAS 4.2 in order to support PPP connectivity. This is included in Novell Border Manager, NetWare Small Business Suite 6, and some 3rd party products.
